My wife subscribes to an online estate auction web site. Usually it's gotã<SARCASM>really interesting</SARCASM> stuff like jewelry, craft magazine, andãsometimes even tupperware.ããAnyway last week she alerted me to one of these auctions, but it had reloadingãpresses and supplies as well as a host of amateur radio equipment. Must haveãbeen five or six different Icom HTs out there of various models as well asãchargers, spare batteries and other cool stuff.ããI told her what my maximum bids on any of it would be, intentionally lowãballing because hey... I don't want to spend a lot of money!ããWound up winning a couple of good items. Scored an MFJ 259 antenna analyzer,ãand this one I actually bid up until I won. $170. Looks like it works great,ãeven if the batteries inside HAD corroded. In the market for another pair ofãbattery holders (already located on eBay) and I'll be set with that.ããAlso nabbed an ICOM IC-04AT for about $20. Darned thing even works! Notãexactly sure how I'll fill up all of the memory slots - there are TEN of them,ãbut I think I'll manage. Got some spare batteries and a desktop charger for itãas well. Nice thing is, those batteries will also work in my HTX-404 and HTX-ã202. Now all I need to do is fix the ER1 message on the 404. Ordered theãbutton battery and holder for it, I believe it's down in my mail box right now.ãWill stop and pick it up on my way into town tonight.ããI'm really happy about the antenna analyzer. Been wanting one for a long time,ãbut didn't want to pay full price....ããWell, that's all for now. Just wanted to pop in and talk about my good luck.ãWell MOSTLY good luck. If only that one guy hadn't outbid me for the RCBSãprogressive press......ãã Regards,ã -==*>Weatherman<*==-ãã---ã þ Synchronet þ The Lost Chord BBS - Cheyenne, WYã
