I found my set from high school. Started building a layout recently, and a lot of stuff has changed in 30 years. Automation, really. So I've got a few arduinos and power shells. Of course you could spend loads of dollars and go the DCC route.ã> I'm just doing it to build stuff, and mess with arduinos.ããFor HO, Model Power locos and box cars are/were more affordable but alsoãwere often thought of as not being prototypical and of not having qualityãdrives. At the time I am thinking of, Proto 2000 was still owned byãLifeLike, were affordable and, unlike MP, were more prototypical and hadãbetter drives.ããThe last time I looked at Proto-2000 (or even 1000) prices, now that theyãare owned by another company, they are not so affordable.ããI figure if I ever get back into it and need to keep cost down, I can passãoff some of the less-prototypical stuff off as "railroad specific"ãmodifications or rebuilds. :Dããã * SLMR 2.1a * Forget 0 to 60. Direct from the Ministry of Silly WalksããFor PC. Not sure if Steam ever hosted the mods. I recall seeing them active ãaround the same time Couterstrike was still in beta. In the editor, thereãwas a module that was loaded with games /sim specific definitions, and thenãyou'd use the map editor to create your layout and create the hidden overlaysãthat describe what is considered the track route.ããI used to build maps for Counterstrike, and the track, vehicle, and door andãdevce controls from Half Life were all kept in the mod. I liked the idea ofãmaking parts of maps unaccessable by adding controls that would lock door orãflood areas that would porevent the use of anything but a pistol.ãã---ã þ Synchronet þ The Cave BBS - Since 1992 - cavebbs.homeip.netã
