I found the way they handle this privacy thing for the citizens in Estonia really interesting. They call it e-estonia - basically, the entire country runs on blockchain. This way everybody is the owner of their own data, protected with a key and they can choose who they give access to their data and for how long etc. This way bureaucratic governmental institutions are mostly obsolete and it's pretty much impossible for your data to leak. I think there must be some way possible to make this happen for social media too. I may be biased but I honestly believe blockchain is the way to go concerning privacy. Neurolink and other similar technologies will have access to everything internally and externally.... Try this - leave your home unlocked at all the times fora week or month and see what negative consequences does that bring. There will probably be none, will you remove lock from your front door on this basis? Just because it's inconceivable for you to live in a police state doesn't mean it can't happen. Just because you don't have interesting data at the moment, doesn't mean it's wise to strip everyone around from privacy. It has happened countless times through history and will surely happen again and because you said you had nothing to hide, You let the government create this huge mass surveillance apparatus that will ultimately be your demise.ããObjects in Motionã1 month agoãThe laws ought to be written to fit to what people do, not the other way around. If everybody is doing something illegal, then the solution is not to have privacy be our defense against the government, but to change the laws to fit society. You either have nothing to hide, are doing something that ought not be hidden, or are actually commiting a crime. Privacy is not needed. If a potential employer knows your lowest limit of salary (and/or benefits etc), that is what you end up with. You always have things to hide from others.
