• session for win7

I've been using Session desktop on Win7 quite satisfactorily ãfor a while now. Update notices come along and prompt you to ãaccept them or opt for "Later". The lastest operating version ãfor me was 1.11.0.ããAn update notice arrived yesterday. I accepted it. 1.11.2 ãfailed. Error message was "DiscardVirtualMemory could not be ãlocated in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"ããWell.. apparently, Win7 does not support DiscardVirtualMemory. ãThere was no clue of this at the Session blog.ããSo.. just a heads up to any other Win7 users out there, ãapparently Win7 support has ended at 1.11.0.ããI was able to re-install Session 1.11.0 from the releases ãavailable on the Github development site.ããThe only annoying thing is that Session now prompts for the ãupgrade every few minutes.ãã--- OpenXP 5.0.57ã * Origin: Ogg's Dovenet Point (723:320/1.9)ã þ Synchronet þ CAPCITY2 * capcity2.synchro.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/Rlogin/HTTPã

I have never tried anything like that, or ãVMs for that matter. But I am game to try it if/when Session DT ãfor Win7 is disabled somehow. Never heard of VcXsrv or Xming. ãHowever, I would also be fine with limiting my Session use on ãmy mobile devices if that keeps me going. Thx for the tip.ããã--- OpenXP 5.0.57ã * Origin: Ogg's Dovenet Point (723:320/1.9)ã þ Synchronet þ CAPCITY2 * capcity2.synchro.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/Rlogin/HTTPã
