A good friend of mine and substantial contributor to what has become an ãimportant element of BBS history: Synchronet, Steve Deppe, passed on on July ã10th, 2014 at the age of 56.ããSteve was a significant influence on me, as a musican and programmer. He was ãindirectly responsible for the name of my BBS (Vertrauen) and came up with the ãname "Synchronet", for the BBS software I would later write with his help and ãinspiration. He and I shared many laughs by implementing user-tormenting ãfeatures such as r0dent-write, the 'Y' restriction, and The Guru chat. Steve ãhad a wicked sense of a humor and was very methodical and detailed in ãeverything he did. He will be dearly missed.ããHis personal (terse) web-site is at http://stevedeppe.com/ããHis obituary is online at http://bit.ly/1lQ9iXJããI've begun to recollect our relationship online at ãhttp://wiki.synchro.net/person:ille_homine_albeãã digital manããSynchronet "Real Fact" #71:ãSynchronet CIOXTRN (created by Deuce) is a 32-bit replacement for DOORWAY.ãNorco, CA WX: 77.7øF, 17.0% humidity, 5 mph SE wind, 0.15 inches rain/24hrsã---ã þ Synchronet þ Vertrauen þ Home of Synchronet þ [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.netã
