I've been having a problem, and I'm not sure what is causing it, or how to fixãit -- I recently updated the software to v11b and since been seeing weirdãthings that use to work not work. :(ããand I have tried the ;exec *telgate command and get the same error -- ãã!Failed to resolve address: ã[Hit any key]ããI am able to use a telnet client from that machine with out problems, also, itãappears that the QWK networking is working correctly, and I am able to send outãemails, so the machine must be resolving the addresses correctly, I'm thinkingãthis might be a problem with the *telgate or how it interacts with the newãupdate????? ããProbably didn't give enough information for a helpful answer, but really don'tãknow what I need to say. ããI am behind a firewall -- port 79 (finger), 80 (HTML), 25 (SMTP), 23 (Telnet),ã110 (POP3) are all open for this machine.ããAny ideas???ããThanks,ãLeRoy (AkA Night Owl)ãã---ã þ Synchronet þ Cyber Station 1 BBS -

In the first part of the message, yourãtalking about netmail, as in a message sent via a mailer, such as Irex, Argus,ãetc... FTN netmail. The second part your talking about your mail server forãe-mail, pop3, etc.. ããI make a quick check for you on your port 25 and 110 SMTP/POP3... Here's theãanswer:ããsniper@proxy:~$ telnet cyber-station1.com 25ãTrying 64.202.167.129...ãConnected to ip-64-202-167-129.secureserver.net.ãEscape character is '^]'.ã^]ããNo answer.ããsniper@proxy:~$ telnet cyber-station1.com 110ãTrying 64.202.167.129...ãtelnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed outããNo answer.ããSo, there's 2 possiblities... From your statement above, you don't have eitherãof these ports configured in your router, so, of course, this is what you wouldãget... But if you do have these ports open, then your ISP is blocking them.ããHope that helps.ãããSniperãKilled In Action BBS SysOpã
