I guess my question would be to be willing to release theã> KenGen softwareã> so registrsation keys can still be made for sysops thatã> might still want toã> use these software titles ....ã>ã> If not, possibly a single "public" registration key any andã> all sysops canã> use.ããDue to the deal at the time of my purchase of the ice brandedãsoftware, I can't do that....ããInstead my suggestion is to find one of the several key generatorsãthat were made to "protest" the sale of the icebranded utilities.ãThose key generators were quite annoying, and I know the originalãicebranded software is/was still available.ããThere is several problems with me releasing any BBS related softwareãat this point.ãã1) The tools and software I used to make the software are all archived.ãã2) The compiler that I used is Borland Pascal, and had issues withãPentium 2's and higher. There were official patches, butãI doubt it would work with Pentium 3 or 4, let alone 1 Ghz+ãbased machines. I do not even have it installed anymore..ã(See below)ãã3) Any software that I do now is cross platform.... Macintosh,ãPC, and Linux..... I don't even use the same programming languageãnow. I am primarily using Python... (http://www.python.org)ããI honestly do not believe there is a desire for Dial up BBS softwareãanymore. In the years since I closed the doors after the system crash,ãI have had 3 people ask about the software.ããI had several QuickBBS sysops begging for internet enabled softwareãback in 96-97...ããWhile I can believe that Dial up still exists, with over 50% of theãUS having internet access, I can't believe that Dial up BBSing hasãa significant following anymore...ããAs I mentioned I have toyed with making a Internet friendly BBS likeãpackage, but nothing has convinced me that it would be worth my timeãand energy to seriously consider it...ããMatt Munson - The Parallel BBS - parallel.darktech.org (4 line)ãããã---ã þ Synchronet þ The Parallel BBS * parallel.darktech.orgã
