Hi,
Is there a way to have file areas created via a .na file in the same way that message areas can be created for use with an FTN?

Yes, but the FTN shared file area format is called FILEGATE.ZXX, not ".na". SCFG->File Areas ... Import Areas...

I tried to do this the other day. It forced me to enter a parent directory even though I'm using the default and when I imported the file area format,
it said 0 imported even though it is a properly formatted file, from what I could tell. I guess I'm doing something wrong again.
I just imported a filegate.zxx file, worked as expected. File looks like this: Area FIDONEWS 0 ! News
Area NODELIST 0 ! Nodelists
Area NODEDIFF 0 ! Nodelist changes (diffs)
