  • Inconsistent telnet_gate results

    I seem to get mixed results whenever I telnet_gate out of the BBS to differentãtelnet sites.ããI thought I'd try setting up a "door" to nethack.alt.org. My external program command line looks like this:ãã?telgate nethack.alt.orgããWhen I go to run it, it spews a short line of output like this immediately following the 'Connecting to' line:ãã ý[CAN] ý ý#ý'ããI can telnet to nethack.alt.org just fine from the command line.ããAlso tried mudgate.js and unixgate.js in place of telgate.js from the BBS, but no difference.ããInterestingly telgate.js works just fine for other things, likeãtowel.blinkenlights.nl.ãã|01<|09co|03d|11e|15Ÿ|11e|03n|09ix|01>|07ãã---ã þ Synchronet þ -=[ conchaos.synchro.net | ConstructiveChaos BBS ]=-ã

    Same here, nothing.

    For what it's worth, my Perl libraries don't work well with this site
    either.

    Just checked nethack4.org, a French version of NetHack, and got the same crappy results as nethack.alt.org.

    It's the NetHack software doing something weird.
