Hey DM,ããI received an email today with multiple parts:ãã$ grep Next msg_5939.txtã boundary="----=_NextPart_000_008C_01D998A5.F0960690"ã ------=_NextPart_000_008C_01D998A5.F0960690ã boundary="----=_NextPart_001_008D_01D998A5.F0960690"ã ------=_NextPart_001_008D_01D998A5.F0960690ã ------=_NextPart_001_008D_01D998A5.F0960690ã ------=_NextPart_001_008D_01D998A5.F0960690--ã ------=_NextPart_000_008C_01D998A5.F0960690ã ------=_NextPart_000_008C_01D998A5.F0960690--ããbut Email -> Read was only showing me the first "001_008D" part of the message. I wasnt aware that there were other parts unless I downloaded the message, ie List -> Select Message -> Download. Even smbutil -rxxx didnt show the full message.ããShould it have shown or otherwise enabled me to download the other parts? This makes email via the BBS unreliable if attachments or other parts of the message are not accessible.ããIn case you need it:ã_NextPart_000_008C_01D998A5.F0960690 - Content-Type: multipart/alternativeã_NextPart_001_008D_01D998A5.F0960690 - Content-Type: text/plain;ã_NextPart_001_008D_01D998A5.F0960690 - Content-Type: text/htmlã_NextPart_000_008C_01D998A5.F0960690 - Content-Type: text/plainããã...ëîåïãã---ã þ Synchronet þ AnsiTEX bringing back videotex but with ANSIã

I wasnt aware that there were other parts unless I downloaded theã > message, ie List -> Select Message -> Download.ããTypically there's only one plain-text part (useful for reading in a terminal) per message. But if you want to see all parts, enabling Raw I/O mode (Ctrl-Z) will do that.ãã > Even smbutil -rxxx didnt show the full message.ãã'-rxxx' doesn't ring a bell. "smbutil r[xxx] -r" (where [xxx] is the message number) would display the raw (non MIME-decoded message body).ãã > Should it have shown or otherwise enabled me to download the other parts?ããI suppose it (msglist.js?) could display an indicator that there are non-visible parts. Some parts (e.g. html, inline images) just aren't very useful to be shown to a terminal user.ãã > This makes email via the BBS unreliable if attachments or other parts of theã > message are not accessible.ã >ã > In case you need it:ã > _NextPart_000_008C_01D998A5.F0960690 - Content-Type: multipart/alternativeã > _NextPart_001_008D_01D998A5.F0960690 - Content-Type: text/plain;ã > _NextPart_001_008D_01D998A5.F0960690 - Content-Type: text/htmlã > _NextPart_000_008C_01D998A5.F0960690 - Content-Type: text/plainããI would expect only the first text/plain part to be pulled from the message body by default.ã-- ã digital man (rob)ããSynchronet/BBS Terminology Definition #67:ãSBBS = Synchronet Bulletin Board SystemãNorco, CA WX: 64.6øF, 65.0% humidity, 0 mph NE wind, 0.00 inches rain/24hrsã---ã þ Synchronet þ Vertrauen þ Home of Synchronet þ [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.netã
