thanks, i might do that just for a sanity check, it was good to see
your ansi posts to prove it's possible, i tried a little bit to no
avail but then discovered a bug in my shell where I couldn't
reply to msgs, not sure if I fixed it, I guess this message will
reveal things. probably mess with it more tomorrow, might try the
steps phigan laid out as mac user...
