G'day deuce....ããI'm trying to setup telgating to a weather serviceã(rainmaker.wunderground.com). Everything within Synch is set correctly as itãdoes connect but this is the message I get.ã ã* *ã* **Note: If you cannot get past this opening screen, you must use a *ã* different version of the "telnet" program--some of the ones for IBM *ã* compatible PC's have a bug that prevents proper connection.ããAnd that's where it hangs. I'm not sure if telgate.js uses the internal telnetãfrom windows or there is something with Synch you use. I've tried connectingãfrom a cmd prompt and it does connect properly and allows me to navigate so I'mãpretty sure you don't use the windows client.ããIf you could possibly steer me in the right direction it would be appreciated.ããThanksãããããBillããTelnet: bbs.tequilamockingbirdonline.netãWeb: bbs.tequilamockingbirdonline.netãIRC: irc.tequilamockingbirdonline.net Ports: 6661-6670 SSL: +6697ãRadio: radio.tequilamockingbirdonline.net:8010/liveããã... Synchronet BBS is not also telnet (ie: when it's RLogin or SSH). Could this be
happening here?ãã---ãhttp://DuckDuckGo.com/ a better search engine that respects your privacy.ã þ Synchronet þ My Brand-New BBS (All the cool SysOps run STOCK!)ã

Couldã De> this be happening here?ããI am almost positive the other end is a telnet connection on port 23 as when Iãuse a cmd prompt and use telnet rainmaker.wunderground.com it connects andãallows me to scroll through the menus. I do not specify an SSH port. ãLikewise, using telgate, it does connect and it gives me the message above so Iãknow it's connecting but will not go any further. This is the entire message Iãget...ããConnecting to: rainmaker.wunderground.comã------------------------------------------------------------------------------ã* Welcome to THE WEATHER UNDERGROUND telnet service! *ã------------------------------------------------------------------------------ã* *ã* National Weather Service information provided by Alden Electronics, Inc. *ã* and updated each minute as reports come in over our data feed. *ã* *ã* **Note: If you cannot get past this opening screen, you must use a *ã* different version of the "telnet" program--some of the ones for IBM *ã* compatible PC's have a bug that prevents proper connection. *ã* *ã* comments: jmasters@wunderground.com *ã------------------------------------------------------------------------------ããPress Return to continue:ããAs you can see, a connection is being made and when I do a netstat, it shows aãtelnet connection being Established to that IP. After I do a CTRL-] andãdisconnect the connection goes away in netstat.ããThis is what is says in the Terminal Server under Debug:ããNode 1 Telnet gate to rainmaker.wunderground.com port 23 on socket 1300ããIt locks then I use CTRL-] and <D> then this:ãã!TELGATE Error 38 sending on socket 1300ãNode 1 Telnet gate to rainmakder.wunderground.com finished.ãããI hope this extra info gives you a clue...ãããThanks ãã ãBillããTelnet: bbs.tequilamockingbirdonline.netãWeb: bbs.tequilamockingbirdonline.netãIRC: irc.tequilamockingbirdonline.net Ports: 6661-6670 SSL: +6697ãRadio: radio.tequilamockingbirdonline.net:8010/liveããã...
