OK this RSS thingie is pretty cool (I think so anyway)ããBut content is the key.ããSo it comes to mind that game scores MAY be of interest if you have someãdedicated gamers.ããI have seen smbutil used to (but not well documented) for importing textãfiles into Mail messages.ããThe syntax is:ããsmbutil -cDOVE-ADS i -tAll -fFinnigann -sBBS_Adãic:\sbbs\xtrn\bbs_ad\BBS_AD-G.ansãããSo for the RSS feed for the game Keno, I can use:ããsmbutil -cRSS -i -tFinnigann -sKeno-stats iC:\SBBS\TEXT\QWK\BLT-0.010ããThe last item is from the bulletins where KENO game scores are createdãvia the game itself.ããOk it LOOKS like smbutil can create text messages in the RSS feed sub,ãand if this bite of instruction is tacked onto the start batch file ORãthe cleanup command with varibles added, it could create an RSS feedãmessage everytime someone plays that game.ãããNow, do I create multiple RSS subs for each game, or for games that areãalike (in some manner)? (Triva games, word games etc)ããCan RSS.INI handle multiple instances of RSS?ããI presume the links are created the same way. ãããNow, to get the links out to the users along with instructions and moreãlinks to resources for feed readers...ããããCan I get some comments on this idea?ããããããã---REFERENCE---ãããusage: smbutil [-opts] cmd <filespec.shd>ããopts:ã --> -c = create message base if it doesn't existã -a = always pack msg base (disable compression analysis)ã --> -i = ignore duplicate messages (do not store CRC)ã -d = use default values (no prompt) for to, from, and subjectã --> -t<s> = set 'to' user name for imported messageã -n<s> = set 'to' netmail address for imported messageã -u<s> = set 'to' user number for imported messageã --> -f<s> = set 'from' user name for imported messageã -e<s> = set 'from' user number for imported messageã --> -s<s> = set 'subject' for imported messageã -z[n] = set time zone (n=min +/- from UT or 'EST','EDT','CST',etc)ããcmd:ã l[n] = list msgs starting at number nã r[n] = read msgs starting at number nã v[n] = view msg headers starting at number nã --> i[f] = import msg from text file f (or use stdin)ã e[f] = import e-mail from text file f (or use stdin)ã n[f] = import netmail from text file f (or use stdin)ã s = display msg base statusã c = change msg base statusã m = maintain msg base - delete old msgs and msgs over maxã p[k] = pack msg base (k specifies minimum packable Kbytes)ãããã ÕÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍã ³ Sure kick the president while he's planningã ³ his next vacation, typical!ããã...
