I run a irc network along with my synch bbs, on seperate sister domains. I've ãalways wanted someway to have a irc bot display stats about the bbs. Say if a ãnew user signed up, someone posted something new on the forums, a new file ãwas added to the library or even when someone logs in to the board.ããI stumbled apon this today: http://www.jibble.org/pircbot.phpããLooks like someone already had a simular idea. I've seen this used for forums ãon a website. When ever someone posts a new topic or replies to an existing ãone. It notifies the set IRC Channel about that post.ããBeing the programming newbie, i have the slightest clue about Java. You don't actually need a 'bot' if you just want toãsend messages to a channel. See exec/ircmsg.js for an example.
