weird js thing...?

Ok, I have my shell completely in .js, and most everything is going as planned.ã There is one peculiar issue, though...ããWhen I try to list files, I use the following command:ããbbs.menu.baja("setstr *.*" + "\r\n" + "file_list");ããThe bbs tries to run baja /sbbs/exec/temp_1.src, and then launch that file.ããI have no temp_1.src. I am running 3.15 as of today, and this file is nowhereãto be found. Ideas? :)ããI'll browse cvs I suppose...ãã---ã þ Synchronet þ My Brand-New BBS (All the cool SysOps run STOCK!)ã

Ideas? :)ãWell, as it turns out...ãHere is exactly what happens when I run the aforementioned in js..:ããNode 1 Executing external: baja /o temp_1.srcãNode 1 Executing external: *temp_1ãNode 1 !ERROR 2 [WinError 2] in exec.cpp line 724 openingã"c:\sbbs\exec\temp_1.bin" etc etc etcããHowever, while on the telnet node, before acknowledging the error by pressingãenter, I noticed that the temp_1.src file actually _does_ exist. So myãunderstanding is that the bbs.menu.baja creates a small baja file, compiles it,ãand executes it on the spot.ããHOWEVER, I don't have the temp_1.bin file...so obviously, synch is not creatingãthat file. It may be some goofy virus protection I have not allowing baja toãbe launched from some other program (thoughts?). I'm still working on this.ãã---ã þ Synchronet þ My Brand-New BBS (All the cool SysOps run STOCK!)ã

Theãissue was that windows 7 has ridiculous issues with letting programs launchãother programs. As such, it wasn't allowing synchronet to launch baja.exe. OnãWinXP, it works just fine.ãã---ã þ Synchronet þ My Brand-New BBS (All the cool SysOps run STOCK!)ã

Good to know you got it to work.ããBy the way, your bbs.menu.baja command interested me, because I've alsoãconverted my command shell to JavaScript, but there was still one thing I hadãto keep in Baja: Letting the user configure their file scan pointer. Theãreason is that there doesn't seem to be an equivalent JavaScript function forãthat. What I did was, I made a Baja file that executes file_ptrs_cfg . If Iãcould run a Baja function from within a JavaScript script, that would be nice,ãso that I wouldn't have to have a separate Baja script to do it.ããI tried using bbs.menu.baja, though, but bbs.menu.baja seems to be undefined. ãAnd there seems to be no mention of it in the Synchronet JavaScriptãdocumentation. Are you using it to run Baja code from within JavaScript? Ifãso, could you point me to any documentation you used to describe how to doãthat?ããNightfoxãã---ã þ Synchronet þ Digital Distortion BBS: digdist.bbsindex.comã

If you'd like I can try to clip out theãimportant parts and email you, or if you just check out s3, I'm sure you'llãfind lots of useful tidbits. I based my entire board off of it.ãã---ã þ Synchronet þ :: montereybbs.com ::ã
